A pet owner is making sure her dog gets the royal treatment wherever they travel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Catherine Sophie, 23, of Glasgow, Scotland,<\/a> recently took a month-long vacation \u2014 with her dog.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Teddy is a three-year-old Maltese<\/a> and a “great companion,” said Sophie, when it comes to traveling.<\/p>\n

“I have been really lucky [as] he is so well-behaved. Because I was going by myself, he was great company for me,” she told SWNS.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As an actress, Sophie often travels for work, she said \u2014\u00a0and takes Teddy along with her.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For the trip, Catherine Sophie spent about $900 getting her dog Teddy to and from their home in Glasgow, Scotland.<\/span> (SWNS)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

This trip, however, was all about leisure, and Sophie said she couldn\u2019t bear the thought of leaving Teddy at home for an entire month.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“My family adores Teddy, but because I was going for a month it would [have been] a lot for them to take him,” she said to SWNS.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With their sights set on Italy, Sophie and Teddy jetted off from Glasgow to Rome<\/a> at the beginning of April 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Teddy is a three-year-old Maltese who was lucky enough to visit parts of Italy with his owner, Catherine Sophie.\u00a0<\/span> (SWNS)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

With the airline\u2019s pet fee and the vaccinations Teddy needed beforehand, Sophie said she spent about $500 to get Teddy to Italy \u2014\u00a0telling SWNS that “it was totally worth it.”<\/p>\n

Once the pair touched down on Italian soil, they spent the next month visiting Rome, Bari and Civitavecchia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“It was something I have always wanted to do,” Sophie told SWNS.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sophie and her pup stayed in dog-friendly Airbnbs during the trip \u2014 and even shared a public transportation card.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I am trying to learn Italian, so I thought it would be a great opportunity,” she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The pair also visited the Colosseum, the Vatican, Sophie\u2019s great-grandfather\u2019s war grave, the beach \u2014 and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After their whirlwind trip, the pair did have to take a longer route back to Glasgow, however.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sophie wanted to ensure she could be with Teddy on all flights to and from, so she paid extra to make sure he could join her in the main cabin of the airplanes.<\/span> (SWNS)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Since the United Kingdom doesn\u2019t allow dogs to travel with passengers in the main cabin, Sophie went out of her way to make sure she could sit with Teddy on the way home.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The pair flew from Rome to Amsterdam, then from Amsterdam to Dublin before getting on a bus to Belfast and taking a ferry to Scotland.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The two-day trip home cost Sophie about $450 extra to ensure Teddy traveled by her side, according to SWNS.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sophie said it was worth it, however \u2014 as Teddy is her dog and “my responsibility.”<\/p>\n

She added, “The journey there and back did go a lot smoother than I thought it would.”<\/p>\n
